Admissions

School Admissions

All school admissions and appeals are handled through Rochdale Council. More information can be found here

We know that starting school is a big experience for any child but especially if they start at a different time of year or from a different country. A member of staff will meet with all new children and take them of a tour of the school and introduce them to key staff. We will also discuss any educational, medical or pastoral needs your child has so we can support them making the best start at Heybrook. We would encourage you to bring your child with you on any visits you make to the school.

Nursery Admissions

At Heybrook Nursery, we admit pupils according to our Admissions Policy which can be found here.

If you would like your child to come to Heybrook Nursery please contact Mrs Khan who is based at our Nursery site. You will be asked to give your contact details, child’s name and date of birth and to state whether you would prefer a morning of afternoon Nursery place. You will be asked to fill out a grant form; which requires both parents’ National Insurance numbers.

Offer of a place

If you are successful in being given a place, the Nursery will contact you 6-8 weeks before your child is due to start. We will then arrange a Home Visit which is a great way for us to get to know you and your child.

Starting Nursery

When your child first starts Nursery, they attend shorter sessions for the first few days. This transition helps the children to feel settled and adjust to their new routine. Parents usually attend a stay and play session, so that all new families are welcomed into the school. Staff are more than happy to answer any questions you may have, at any time and there are always bilingual teachers available.
